Podcasting: what are the basics?
Podcasting
With Apple iPods came Podcasting. Podcasting are radio shows created by average people that are streamed live or can be downloaded off the internet. Apple iPods are great at shuffling music. You can put your entire collection into and Apple iPod and then hit shuffle. You can listen to your favorite tunes for hours or even days depending on the size of your collection. Podcasting is taking shuffling to another level.
You don't need to be a radio DJ to become a podcaster. All you need is a drive to deliver great music and talk to the masses. You can find many podcasts on iTunes as well as other web sites all over the web. There are even podcast directories so you can find new podcasts, genres, and personalities to listen too.
Podcasts are usually free and normally do not include commercials. You might find some self promotion, but it is all in good fun. If you would like to start your own podcast there are plenty of web sites that can show you step by step how to create a quality, original podcast. All it takes is personality, music, and imagination. So if you would like a new type of entertainment, check out podcasts.
